GARD PRO’s Pedometer – How Does It Work?Updated 9 days ago

🚶 GARD PRO’s Pedometer – How Does It Work?

The pedometer is one of the most popular features on GARD PRO smartwatches. It helps users track their daily movement, stay motivated, and work toward fitness goals. But how exactly does the pedometer work — and how can you get the most accurate data?

📍 GPS Functionality via Smartphone

The GARD PRO pedometer works in combination with your smartphone’s GPS. This means:

  • Your phone must be with you during walks, runs, or other movement-based activities

  • The GPS helps calculate your distance and step count with higher accuracy

So while your watch tracks general motion on its own, precise tracking requires access to your phone’s location data.

🔗 Bluetooth Connectivity with the App

To communicate with your phone’s GPS and transfer step data, your GARD PRO smartwatch uses Bluetooth.
Make sure:

  • Your watch is paired with your phone via Bluetooth

  • You have the GloryFit app (or GloryFitPro, depending on your model) running and connected

This allows your smartwatch to receive step and distance data in real time — giving you instant feedback on your activity. GPS is only working when you start a walking in the app.

⚙️ Optimize the Location Settings

To ensure the pedometer collects accurate and consistent data, it’s important to set the location permissions on your phone correctly:

✅ How to set this up:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings

  2. Tap Apps and find the GloryFit app

  3. Tap Location

  4. Set the permission to “Always Allow”

This ensures the app can access GPS data even when it's not actively open — essential for continuous step tracking.

❗ Notice a Big Difference in Step Count?

If your step data seems incorrect or varies too much from other devices, we recommend resetting your watch:

👉 Go to this support page
📍 Choose your GARD PRO model
🛠️ Follow the steps under "How do I reset my GARD PRO?"
